* If you are new to Svaroopa® Yoga, PLEASE arrive at least 10 minutes early on your first day so that I can help you get settled in before class starts.
New students will need to fill out a Student Release Form. (Note: Svaroopa® Yoga is not an appropriate style of yoga for people who had an organ transplant)
* For Continuing Students, please arrive 5 minutes early to sign in and settle into your space before class begins.
* No mats or other yoga gear is needed. The studio is fully stocked with props for your convenience.
* Wear comfortable clothing you can move easily in, and avoid eating a heavy meal just before class.
* If you have any physical limitations or concerns,
book a session for one-one-one yoga thearpy session first.

Svaroopa® yoga focuses on "unraveling the deep-seated layers of spinal tension in your body, to create healing and personal transformation, while opening you to an illuminative inner experience of your own essence.” By using precise angles, soft blankets as props, and hands on personalized adjustments, the body opens gently, yet deeply from the inside out, rather than just peripheral stretching of other joints, like hips, legs and shoulders in other popular western yoga styles.
This non-athletic, supported practice of yoga helps the process of your yoga practice and allows you to experience the true therapeutic aspects of asanas (yoga poses), called "core opening." The benefits are far beyond physical! Core opening helps dissolve physical and mental blockages (pain, discomfort, and old mental patterns, etc.). You will experience deeper changes in the body and a deeper meditative inner experience. The release of the tailbone tension affects the entire physical body and the subtle (energy) body. Say good-by to your back pain, neck/shoulder tension, and headaches. You will also experience improved internal organ, glandular and immune system function with deeper and more efficient breathing. In All-levels Svaroopa® yoga classes, we will explore different themes each month, building on your body’s releases and on your ability to become aware of the changes in your body. You will learn how to activate your abdominal muscles without overworking your spinal muscles, and how to create equal lengthening/opening throughout your spine with its use of support from blankets and other props. You will also learn to align your bones and joints, “using the natural support of your skeletal system,” as well as using your legs, arms and correct abdominal engagement for additional support. Standing poses and everything you do in your life will become easier and more effortless when you have enough spinal opening. “Unlearn” the old way of walking and discover a whole new way!
